NYC 2011 announces the Worship Band Starfield
USA/Canada NYI is very excited to announce that Starfield will be leading worship once again at Nazarene Youth Conference 2011. Thousands of students felt the impact and artistry of Canadian worship band Starfield at NYC 2007 – Water Fire Wind. No one can forget the impression that was left by songs such as “Revolution,” “The Hand that Holds the World,” and “Everything is Beautiful.” Starfield’s passion and heart for worship is contagious and a perfect fit for an event like NYC.
They released their self-titled major label debut in 2004, followed by "Beauty in the Broken" in 2006 and "I Will Go" in 2008. With this momentum built, Starfield returned to the studio to craft their new album “The Saving One.” With tracks like "Rediscover You," Starfield blends a catchy melody with their trademark lyrics that help bring listeners closer to Christ. NYC is looking forward to sharing another week with Starfield July 5-10, 2011!
David Crowder Band announced as featured artist at NYC 2011 Saturday night concert
Critically acclaimed worship group and Christian concert artist, David Crowder*Band, will worship next summer with NYC 2011 – A World Unbroken attendees as the special Saturday night concert artist. The David Crowder*Band is not foreign to Nazarene Youth Conference. At NYC 2007 – Water Fire Wind, DCB graced the stage and helped thousands of students in St. Louis give glory to God through songs such as, “Here is Our King,” “Foreverandever Etc,” and “O Praise Him.”
This Dove Award-winning six-piece act crafts compelling progressive electronic rock that spreads the hope of Jesus. After years of experience in leading worship at University Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, the David Crowder*Band burst onto the scene in 1999 with the album All I Can Say. DCB is known for their energetic live shows that emphasize “loud” over “pretty.” Their 2005 release A Collision served as departure of sorts from their usual style, as more bluegrass and folk stylings began to influence their music. Church Music, their most recent album released in September 2009, continues the David Crowder*Band’s tradition of musical excellence and theologically rich lyrics.
As the week of NYC 2011 comes to a close, the worshipful atmosphere of a David Crowder*Band concert will serve as the perfect culmination for the students as they continue to envision A World Unbroken.
